During his visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, took part in the opening of the Representative Office of the Congress Bureau of the Republic of Bashkortostan "Office Group" (Congress Bureau) on the territory of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

The AIFC Authority and the Convention Bureau agreed to hold regional and international joint events and provide support in sustainable development and investment attraction using the opportunities of the AIFC site.

During the visit, Yernur Rysmagambetov, Chairman of the Board of AIFC Authority JSC, and Nail Gabbasov, General Director of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, agreed to expand cooperation on thecapital market development. The parties intend to promote innovative ideas and startups and assist in attracting investments in promising environmental and social projects.

In addition, the AIFC Authority agreed with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan on the joint development of securities and venture capital markets. Also, parties plan to work on the development of projects in the field of financial technology, digitalization, and innovation, funds for which will be attracted through the AIFC Tech Hub, as well as on the development of human capital and competencies in conjunction with the Bureau and the AIFC Academy of Law.

Representatives of the delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan noted that state organizations and commercial structures of the Republic are interested in the opportunities for developing the economy in the post-covid period and attracting foreign investment that the AIFC platform offers.

The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) was created by the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation, Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev as part of the “100 steps to implement five institutional reforms” national program. The Management council of the AIFC during the council’s meeting on July 2, 2020 approved the Centre’s development strategy until 2025. In accordance with the strategy, the vision of AIFC is in becoming the leading financial centre in the region that includes Central Asia, the Caucasus, EAEU countries, western China, Mongolia, and Eastern Europe.
