A legal training seminar on AIFC matters was held at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute

The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) jointly with the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University with the assistance of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, held a legal training seminar for students, undergraduates and professors of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute.

Ainur Alimkhanovna Sabitova, Director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, Doctor of Law, Professor, opened the training seminar.

Deputy Executive Director of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, member of the Academic Council of the AIFC Academy of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Rogov Igor Ivanovich, within the framework of the topic "AIFC as a legal institution" spoke about the role of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy in the creation of the AIFC, the constitutional component and AIFC’s special legal regime, based on the rules and principles of the law of England and Wales and its advantages, as well as the current achievements of the AIFC, including the practical issues of the application of the law and jurisdiction of the AIFC for the implementation and protection of business initiatives, the ecosystem of the AIFC, in particular about the activities of the AIFC Academy of Law.

Abdraimov Bakhytzhan Zharylkasymovich, member of the Academic Council of the AIFC, Doctor of Law, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, touched upon the topic: "The dilemma of choosing a legal profession: transformation of skills and knowledge."

At the end of this seminar, Rogov I.I., Abraimov B.Zh. and Mamytaliev B.D. (a representative in Almaty on the promotion of the AIFC law) held a Q&A session on the benefits and legal regime of the AIFC with the audience, including students of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, who connected from all regions of Kazakhstan, from Uzbekistan and the United States of America.

This training seminar was also attended by representatives of the French side.
